A1 Asbestos Surveys Limited do not have any interest in the removal of asbestos.

Many asbestos removal companies will carry out a survey for 'FREE'. They will almost certainally find something that requires removal, thus charging sometimes several thousand pounds in removal. Should asbestos be detected and only when all options have been explored, will we suggest removal. We provide a no obligation quotation service to clients and surveys are carried out by our professionally trained surveyors to MDHS100 standard. We undertake Type 1, 2 & 3 surveys on commercial, common areas in blocks of flats and domestic buildings.
Our surveys meet all MDHS100 requirements & all samples are sent to a UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation Service) accredited laboratory for independent impartial analysis, providing clients with the best possible service and results. You will recieve a bound document, clearly showing where potential asbestos containing materials (ACM's), were sampled, what the result was and what (if any), action(s) need be taken. A UKAS laboratory test
certificate will also be included.

Type of Surveys.

A1 can carryout the three types of asbestos survey as defined in MDHS 100.

Type 1 Surveys Location and assessment survey (presumptive). This type of survey involves the location of suspected ACMs. No samples are taken for analysis, therefore materials can only be presumed to contain asbestos.

Type 2 Surveys Standard sampling, identification and assessment survey (sampling survey). This is the most common type of survey carried out when creating an asbestos register. As a type 1, however suspected ACMs are sampled and analysed for the presence of asbestos within the material. Samples are taken from all reasonably accessible locations without damage to the décor of the building.

Type 3 Surveys Full access sampling and identification survey (pre-demolition/major refurbishment survey). A Type 3 survey must be carried out prior to the demolition or major refurbishment of a building or part of the property. The purpose is to determine the location of all ACMs within the building and may involve destructive inspection to gain access to all areas and cavities.
